Basically, there are no real flower shops here - there are a couple but we wouldn't necessarily use or recommend them! The best florists here are not full-time florists - they have other, regular, full-time jobs and do flowers on the side. They are very talented, there is just not enough flower business here to justify having a PROPER full-time flower shop. Also, the best flowers are grown in the north of the island and all business (including all marina business) is in the south. These two factors mean that we can do nice flower work in Grenada, but we need a little time - a big flower order given today for delivery tomorrow is tight for us & may not be possible. But with a little time, we do nice work with flowers here. Another thing is there is no one florist that we would give a big job to (i.e. between $650 - $1,500 US and above), because each one uses certain flower growers and can basically run out of flowers if the job is too big. That is why we always split up an order over $650 US, as we know all the best florists on island - we know their individual strengths and weaknesses and know who does what best. That is why the bigger boats use our services - for this type of local knowledge.
Another thing we need to make you aware of is we are limited to tropical flowers here.
If you, or your guests, insist upon importing your flowers, we can do this too, as we are the sole agent for Transflora in Grenada. You place your order with us and we do the rest.
We would have to fly in your order on either Mondays or Thursdays, as these are the only days for freight flights from the US, but bear in mind that for Monday flights, your flowers would be spending the week-end in Miami International Airport.
Orders from Inventory (available on short notice):
If you would like to buy from what Transflora has in stock (ask us for the current list of inventory), then we need to have your order in to Transflora by noon on a Thursday for delivery on the following Monday's flight. If you would like your order on the Thursday flight, then we need to have your order in to Transflora by noon on that Tuesday. Please bear in mind that you will be subject to minimum orders for each flower – some bunches contain as many as 100 flowers.
Special (Custom) Orders:
If you would like to place a Special Order (whereby you customize your order to get the flowers you want), we then need about 8 - 10 days prior to the actual flight date - the absolute latest that you can place such an order, with us, is by 9:00 am eight (8) days prior to the desired flight date. This means that we need to confirm with you that we have received your order by 9:00 am, not that it was emailed to us by 9:00 am. There are variables that may mean 8 days is not enough and 10 days is necessary. Obviously, the more time we have for a Special Order, the better the chance we have of getting you what you want, when you want it. Please bear in mind that you will still be subject to minimum orders for each flower – some bunches contain as many as 100 flowers.
So, if you would prefer to import your flowers, ask us for our current inventory list, or customize your Special Order, and we will place your order for you.
If you would like to give us all the dimensions and specifications of each arrangement (or loose flower needs), we can get your order done for you and deliver to your boat.
Something to bear in mind is the Christmas / New Year period is very busy for flowers, so the sooner we can get your order and reserve the necessary flowers, the better.
